Effectively Handling the Power Struggle 

by  Jodi Maspaitella, Parenting Coach

Come to our next general meeting to hear Jodi Maspaitella give us a brief workshop on how to deal with the type of ordinary challenges and problems most parents face.  Her workshop will address as common behavioral problem which is Power Struggles with children.

Jodi is a parenting coach who focuses on Improving consistency, structure & organization, reducing family conflicts, effectively handling discipline, increasing healthy communication patterns and improving parent child relationships. She focuses on fostering children’s Independence , Self-discipline, Responsibility, Self-esteem, and Problem solving skills

This Power Struggle workshop will focus on the following topics

I.   Normal physical, social, emotional & intellectual child development
II.  Definition – The Power Struggle
III. Reasons for misbehavior – Chart
IV. Tips to Avoid Power Struggles
V.  Ways to Handle One When the Arise
VI. Other Parenting Tips

Jodi Maspaitella, has a Masters in counseling and has been working with children and families in private and non-profit agency settings since 1993. She has facilitated numerous trainings for biological, foster and adoptive parents and works as an in-home parent coach where she combines her love of teaching with her love of children.
